There's lots of drama in the Etsy world this week so let's dive right in!
Etsy sellers going on strike?!
Yup you read that right.
Less than .03% of Etsy sellers are putting their shops on vacation mode on April 11th to protest the new rise in Etsy fees.
(In case you missed it, Etsy fees are rising from 5% to 6.5%)
Etsy raised their fees to help their efforts in "marketing, customer support, and removing listings that don't meet their policies."
Here's my thoughts on it:
Putting your shop on vacation mode is like the kiss of death for an Etsy shop, its hard to recover after.
Buyers will still be active on those days...they'll just be buying from your competitors instead.
Etsy fees are fair. If you want access to the 30 million active buyers on Etsy then you pay Etsy fees. If you don't want to pay the fees you can sell on your own site- and that's totally fine too!
In case you didn't know here's the fee breakdown of Etsy competitors:
Creative Market: 40%
Canva Contributor: 65%
Creative Fabrica: 25%-50%
eBay: 12%-15%
Selling at markets: 15%-20%

I was poking around on Etsy this week and noticed a product I think are somewhat of an untouched market!
✨Acuity scheduling templates✨
Acuity is a scheduling website for service providers (commonly hairstylist, lash tech, nail techs, etc.)
⚡️Canva update making things difficult for no reason?! ⚡️
If you're used to using the 'share template' tool on Canva you might have logged in and to your surprise the share template tool has poof Into wonderland.
Don't worry, it's not gone for good. But it's been relocated to a not-so-user-friendly spot.

Tailwind changes their dashboard?! 💅🏻
Apparently, every company is embracing 'new year, new me' because Tailwind also got an update this month.
All the features you know and love are still there but they've been rearranged like a toddler pushing their food around on their plate 🤪
